Tatoo

My tatoo...I can now proudly say I've got a tatoo done!
Got through the pain and all..

Me, Dekdi & Eileen ( notice that I looked half in shock!! hahaa...) This is taken right after my tatoo was done...cant even walk straight!

Last day in Bali...

Topless sunbathing in Kuta

Finally, we got to get up later today, as most of us have gotten all the items( gifts, crafts and etc) we needed, seen most of the places that we've wanted to see before this trip.
And I also had the most amazing night before..
Went to Matahari for some additional items and "Emping". It is fried bittergout...good tasting or at least I like it!

Walk around the area...went to the beach for lunch, I had Bakso Sapi and Eileen had Mie Kuah.

Went into "Bali Downunder", a tatoo shop along Jl Bakung Sari, meet this guy Dekdi, the tatoo artist. we've schedule an appointment with him earlier for our tatoo.
Since it's my first tatoo... I was abit scared and worried, so I've asked Eileen to get hers first....:( (what a wimp...me!)

My turn..Dekdi outlining my design with a pen.

The journey into tatoo-hood...pain, pain & more pain!

...only half the pain...almost fainted : )

Looking at her, it finally hit me that it was painful! I've manage to compose myself and told myself that I'll manage it! Mine was kinda big as well...therefore longer suffering!!

I have to say that, Dekdi is good, he actually used free hand to outline my tatoo as I wanted the size to be smaller than the print out...
The actual tatooing was PAINFUL...throughout the whole process I keep reminding myself that I've been through worst pain in my life...I probably have...but dunno why this tatooing episode seems to be on the top!!haha...
More pain on the filling part Errrr.....wow #@!%*#%@ PAINFUL!

After the trauma....
Turns out better than I've expected... Eileen got hers done nicely as well...
300,000 rupiah for both.

If i ever get another tatoo, definately I'll be heading to Bali for Dekdi.

4th Day @ Bali

Legian Street at night

Legian Street at night

Learning to surf

Went to Matahari (Local Shopping Mall) to get some souvenirs....items here are reasonable without you being ask/ bug to buy something! Basically it's fix pricing...I found out that some items here are sold cheaper than off the street...good for those dont wanna bargain with the stalls owners.

Went for my surfing lessons at Kuta Beach! Wow...what an experience, water was extreamly cold...even for my local surf instructor!
After a couple of tries, manage to get my feet on the surf board!! Feeling was excellent! Would definately try it again...we spend almost 3 hours surfing or actually trying very hard to surf :)

Discovered Legian...this place is just a walk down from Kuta Beach...was really surprise about this area...it's much more happening compared to Kuta ( again probably because of the bombing)
There are dance clubs, restaurants, pubs, chill out places..

3rd day @ Bali

Dolphin watching

Turtle watching

Me at the Beach

Got up at 7am...Wayan was already waiting for us at the hotel reception....got into his Kijang and off we went to his friends place ....our itenary was:

1.Dolphin watching
2.Lunch
3.Turtle watching
4.Snorkelling

Got back about 3pm to the hotel. Free & easy after that....walked around the Kuta area and found this road: Poppies Lane 1 ( suppose to be a famous place in Kuta)
Alot of foreigners here, mainly australians n japanese...they have anything and everything here!
We hang around at this place to watch a EPL game (Liverpool vs West Ham)..
Anotherthing I wanna mentioned is that Bali is cheap for cigarette & beers!
A pack of Marlboro lights cost 8,000 rupiah & a large bottle of Bintang cost 10,000 rupiah!

2nd Day @ Bali

Kecak Dance

Batik Making

Art Gallery

Terrace Padi fields

2nd Day
Got up early for the day trip with Wayan, took us to the local dance ( didnt go in! coz we're not interested)! Went to some batik making outlets then to some silver making outlet, then to some wood craft factory, then to local art outlets....all of them tried to sell us their items!!! Which I felt abit cheated coz we didn't want to visit these places! Spend 1/2 day just going to these places. Finally we went up to Gunung Batur (Volcano), its cold up there, had lunch at one of the small stalls, then we came back to nusa dua for the Kecak dance & sunset, then Wayan took us to Jimbaran beach for dinner on the beach...this is a very romantic and nice place..... but i think its kinda too popularised...coz there's lots of restaurant next to each other!

Went back to hotel @ 9.30pm...wow...tiring day! got into the pool for a swim and then head to Kuta for a few drinks. One think I notice is that the shops here closes kinda early, we've chased out from the pub at 12.30am (we've literally the last customer in the shop!)
According to the locals, the shops here have suffered because of the bombing!
Got back to the hotel coz we've got to get up at 7am for tomorrow's activities.

Back from Bali...

Came back from Bali....was an interesting trip...feel good/bad/happy n sad! Overall it was an experience that I'll never forget! Got a tatoo done! god it was painful...but i'll survive it..hahaha.

Generally I thought bali is an interesting place to visit and you'll need at least 1-2 weeks to explore the whole island, which I didnt have that sort of time!
Which means we've need to pack our schedules to visit as much of the places as we can!
Which means non stop travelling = tiring!

1st day
Reached the 1st day at Ngurah Rai Airport in the afternoon...called the guide (recommended by someone's friends friends'!!!

Got a free ride to The Oasis Kuta ( where we stay) from the guide, his name is Wayan ( which I later on found out that it means the 1st child in a family in balinese)....meet about 3 other guys that have the same name!

Checked into the hotel...seems nice from the outside and the rooms was nice if they have upkept them coz its a bit run down...but it wasn't too bad, clean and nice.
Unpack and went for a swim...and then walked to Kuta beach for some sea breeze...nice. Noticed that there's alot of kite in the sky.....probably ones of the local passtimes.

Basically just spend the 1st day going around Kuta street's and its surroundings...
